This week has been more stressful than I had expected due to a multitude of things. Firstly, I discovered that I am allergic to tiger lilies! I knew that I had a pollen allergy, but I had never actually experienced such a severe reaction to pollen until someone had gifted me a bouquet of potent tiger lilies for my birthday. Sadly, I love flowers and have been around them many times prior, but I suppose I have never been around such a concentrated source of pollen for many hours before (tiger lilies have these small, concentrated seeds that drop bright orange pollen dust). Nevertheless, tiger lilies are an easy problem to eschew and I will always welcome flowers and continue to have them around.
Next in my list of stressors, is my heavy workload of assignments, quizzes, and discussion boards in all my classes. I decided to take business courses this semester to work on my minor, but I hadn’t expected the environment and atmosphere of the business school to be so different and difficult to adjust to. I had my first in-person quiz in over two years today and I don’t think I did too well but I’m glad I was able to experience this setback early so that I can adjust my study habits for future assessments.
I’ve slept at some insane hours this week but one thing I am looking forward to is making homemade egg tarts with my fellow AAC Intern, Vanessa, tonight! I am really excited to see how they turn out and hope I can relax through this baking adventure. See you next week!
