- Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (9/10)
- The cast is adorable & incorporates romance, comedy, and a bit of action. It’s a classic for first time kdrama watchers (was my first kdrama) but also a little bit unrealistic.
- Penthouse (9/10)
- I watched Penthouse while it was still airing. I loved the first season so much because it was so action-packed and unpredictable. The cast is amazing. But after season 2 and then 3, I started to pick up what was going to happen because you learn that the impossible happens (unpredictable becomes predictable). Overall, I still remember the excitement I felt every time a new episode came out even though I lost that enthusiasm towards the end.
- Weightlifting fairy, Kim Bok-joo (8.8/10)
- Probably the most realistic kdrama on this list right now. It was the second kdrama I ever watched. It’s a cute romance, depicting pretty relatable issues such as insecurity/appearance. The main leads have great chemistry and there’s a lot of fried chicken involved (I love).
- Mine (8.7/10)
- After I finished penthouse, I watched “Mine” because people on Tiktok recommended it. Mine was also a thriller. I have preferred thrillers over romance ever since I watched “Penthouse.” I was quite interested in the secrets in the lives of the rich. I really like how they incorporated LGBTQ issues, parenting, and feminism.
- W – Two Worlds Apart (8.5/10)
- If you’ve read Webtoon, imagine entering the world of a character inside one of the stories. It was a different kdrama than what I was used to. Also, I liked the cast.
