Lately, I have been struggling a little with motivation, and it has a little bit to do with my mental health struggling a little bit from school. When it comes to school stress, I like to have designated me-time which involves going to yoga, having a self care night where I slap on a face mask, turn on music that I like, and jam. I feel like I have been slacking this semester but I cannot pinpoint where my lack of motivation this semester is stemming from, so I honestly think it helps my mental health when I study and get academic validation from exam scores. It also helps me when I call my sister and just talk to her about what is going on in my life and hearing about what she is up to. Another thing that I do for self care is planning to do things throughout the week so I have something different to look forward to. This past Wednesday, I did not have clinical, so I decided to go to Harvard Square with my friend and enjoy the foliage, eat and shop. I think being out in nature also helps me to remain sane, and seeing all the leaves turning beautifully red and orange made me feel happy (fall is my favorite). I also like to journal even though I have not been doing it as much as I had before. It helps me to dissect what I am feeling and to identify the reasoning or causes of my emotions. Self reflection is extremely important to me and it helps me to learn a lot about myself and deal with my emotions in a healthy way.
