Over winter break, I watched a Kdrama called Doom at Your Service, featuring Park Bo Young and Seo In Guk. And let me just say… it is the only drama where I cried in every single episode except for the final one.
The female protagonist, Tak Dong Kyung, is an editor who is diagnosed with glioblastoma where she only has 30 days to live. In the midst of all the unfortunate events that happen to her in a single day, she wishes for doom to come into the world. Doom is the male protagonist of this drama and he happens to hear her wish. That’s when their fate begins.
While Dong Kyung crosses the street, she starts getting major headaches and falls down to the ground where cars are coming. Then all of a sudden, Doom appears in front of her, asking to sign a contract (in the form of a red bracelet), where he will let her not feel any pain until she dies, but in return, she will wish for doom to come. SPOILER ALERT FROM HERE.

She takes his hand. She must hold his hand before/at midnight every day to “recharge.” However, despite the contract, she does not want to make that wish. Doom also told her that the person she loves the most will disappear. After a lot of thinking, she decides that the only choice she can make is… to love Doom. That’s when the crying starts. I don’t think I can keep writing without shedding a tear. Also, not only was their love story sad, but the side characters’ relationships were sad too. It’s so sad how the side characters’ first love didn’t work out.. There was hope and the male actor was good looking, but it didn’t work out:( The girl ended up with the guy I didn’t like…
Overall, I fell in love with the cast. It was very heartwarming. There were a lot of memorable quotes that made this drama even better. If you ever feel like crying, please watch this drama :’)
(I was listening to the OST while writing this. It’s pretty good. Of course, I got sad flashbacks, but that’s exactly why I listen to Korean Drama OSTs hehe)
