Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard about the mobile game, Among Us, spewing from millennials and Gen Z’s mouths. This game, which can accompany up to 10 people, has taken over all of Tik Tok. With so much attention from young adults, there’s got to be some ticks that people have discovered by now. Here’s my list of Among Us tips and tricks that are super helpful for someone newly starting off. (adapted from Clash Universe on YouTube)
Blinking Security Cam Lights
If you’re an imposter and trying to dodge the security cams, try to see if there’s a red light flashing on it. If so, this means someone is currently watching the security cams. If the red light stops blinking on the camera, this means the coast is clear.
Get a Head Start!
To skip the loading animation that says “crewmate” or “imposter” and get a head start before anyone else, simply click on the “SHHHHH!” screen once and it should immediately skip so you can enter into the game faster (and before other people). You can run away and take your position before the rest of the group.
Task Faker?
Whenever someone is completing a single task and finishes it, be sure to keep an eye on the task bar at the top. If the bar increases after their task has been completed, this means they’re a crewmate; if not, they’re an imposter who’s faking a task.
Distance Killing
You don’t need to be very close to a crewmate in order to kill them. Once you see the red outline around them, this means you’re able to ambush them- even if it’s from a distance.
Admin Map
The admin map is very useful for seeing where an imposter vents to and from. Once you open up the map, you can easily see if a player flickers back and forth between two rooms. If so, you know this is the imposter because the only way they can quickly move between these rooms is through venting.
Fake Reactor Task
In the reactor, if you see someone faking this highlighted task, they are 100% the imposter. This is a dummy model just for show.
Hopefully these super easy tips will help you out! Happy playing!
